FLIGHT COMPENSATION GUIDE

Missed flight connections

A missed connection can be covered by EU261 when flights are part of a single booking and the qualifying delay is measured at the final destination.

Does a single booking matter?

Yes. When a journey is booked as one itinerary, the combined journey can be relevant. Separate tickets do not automatically receive the same treatment.

How long must the delay be?

A final-destination arrival delay of at least three hours may qualify, subject to operating carrier, route and extraordinary-circumstance conditions.

What if I was rerouted?

Keep both the original and revised itineraries. Your actual arrival time and the circumstances of the disruption may affect entitlement.

What documents help?

Save the complete booking, each flight number, notifications, revised boarding passes and arrival details.
